Zachariah Sitchin discusses the ancient Sumerians and the Annunaki

This is a very interesting video.  It basically discusses an alternative theory for the origins of humanity.  Mr. Sitchin explains that we were created by certain aliens (called the Annunaki) who came here 6,000 years ago from another planet because they needed our gold to take back to their planet to address certain environmental degradation problems there.  They were originally mining the gold themselves but there was a mutiny among their own ranks because the mining was difficult and distasteful work.  Thus, they created humans by mixing some of their genes with those of very primitive Neanderthal-type men who existed at that time so that they could do the mining work for the Annunaki.

One of the interesting points is that there seems to be Biblical confirmation for some of what Mr. Sitchin says.  For example, in Genesis 1:26 it says “And God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…’ ”  “OUR” image???????   Also: Genesis 6:4 says: “There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.” This implies that there was crossbreeding of some sort between humans and certain superior beings.

Also, the book of Genesis seems to be a shortened version of a much longer ancient book which has been preserved on stone tablets and which discusses the Annunaki.

(Note: I am not saying  based on these things that Christ was not who he said he was.  If Mr. Sitchin is correct in what he says it would mean that some of the facts in the Old Testament are incorrect or incomplete but it could still be that the people, even if they were created by the Annunaki, came on their own to worship and revere a much higher god than the Annunaki, the true God.  I do not think that Jesus was talking about the Annunaki when he referred to and prayed to “the Father.”)
